El Paso Diablos News Release

May 11, 2010 El Paso, TX - The El Paso Diablos' lost their final exhibition game of the 2010 season 14-9 to the Sioux City Explorers at Cohen Stadium on Tuesday night. After the pitching staff showed a strong effort on Saturday night, offense ruled the night on Thursday.

The Diablos fell behind quickly 4-0 after one inning, but would chip away at the lead and would eventually take the lead back in the fourth inning when an Adam Deleo two RBI single put the Diablos up 6-5. That would be the only lead of the night for El Paso as it was quickly snatched back in a four run Explorers' fifth inning. Sioux City's lead was not threatened the rest of the night.

El Paso was led at the plate by Jeff Vincent who went 3-4 with a home run and four RBI. Hector Bernal had a big night going 3-5 with three doubles and ends the exhibition season going 4-6 with all hits going for extra bases. J.D. Reininger also turned in a good night going 2-4 with two runs scored.

El Paso kicks off their regular season on Thursday night at 7:05 against the same Sioux City Explorers. D.J. Mattox will get the opening day start for the Diablos. Fans can look in the El Paso Times for a free ticket to the game.
