Calgary Hitmen Fall 4-2 To Tri-City Americans

Kennewick, WA - Alexander Pechurskiy made 40 saves in a first star performance as the Tri-City Americans beat the Calgary Hitmen 4-2 Wednesday night in Kennewick, Washington.

The victory cuts the Calgary lead to 3-1 in the best-of-seven Western Hockey League Championship series.

The Americans jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Zachary Yuen and Mason Wilgosh. Mackenzie Royer, with his first playoff goal, pulled Calgary to within one before the end of the first period.

The second period was scoreless despite the fact Calgary outshot Tri-City 22-11 in the middle frame.

In the third, the Americans produced the eventual game winner just 20 seconds in with a powerplay goal from Kruise Reddick.

Justin Feser made it 4-1 Tri-City before Giffen Nyren rounded out the Calgary scoring.

The series now shifts back to the Pengrowth Saddledome for Game 5 Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
