Wildcats - Sea Dogs Meet In First Ever New Brunswick Q Final

Moncton-NB - The stage is set. The long anticipated league final series between the Wildcats and Sea Dogs starts Friday. It's the first ever meeting of two New Brunswick teams for the Presidents Cup.

Game one of the series will be played on Friday night April 30th at Harbour Station in Saint John starting at 7:30. The teams will meet in game two on Sunday afternoon, May 2nd. at 4 pm at the Moncton Coliseum. The Sea Dogs will host game three on Tuesday May 4th at 7:00 pm with the fourth game set for the Moncton Coliseum on Friday May 7th at 7:30. If game five is needed it will be played on Saturday May 8th at Harbour Station, starting at 7pm.. The Coliseum will be the location for game six if needed on Monday May 10th, start time will be also be 7pm. Should a seventh and deciding game be required, it will be played on Tuesday May 11th at 7 pm at Harbour Station.

Tickets for the Wildcats home games are available at the Coliseum Box Office, telephone 506-857-4100 which will be open Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on game days from 10am up to game time. Tickets can also be purchased on line at www.moncton-wildcats.com .

The Wildcats assured themselves of a final berth last Friday night when they defeated the defending league champion Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-2 to take their semi-final series four games to one. The Cats got by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in round one and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the quarter final series also in four games.

The Sea Dogs won over the PEI Rocket in their opening round taking the series in five and then swept Gatineau in four before meeting the Victoriaville Tigres in a semi-final series that went six games.

During the regular season, the Wildcats beat the Sea Dogs in four times in regulation while Saint John won three games via the shoot out and one in overtime.

It promises to be a hard fought series with the winner going to the Master Card Memorial Cup in Brandon, Manitoba beginning May 14th.
