
Scott Beatty Named The "Voice Of The Pheasants"

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants announced today the hiring of Scott Beatty as the "Voice of the Pheasants." Beatty will broadcast all 96 regular season and post-season Pheasants games on the home for Pheasants baseball, Sioux Falls Sports Radio AM-1230 KWSN.
"We are very pleased to name Scott as the voice of the Pheasants," stated Pheasants VP of Broadcast/Communications, Jim Olander. "Scott is an up-and-coming broadcaster with a great passion for the game of baseball, something I think fans will enjoy while tuning in on a nightly basis."
Beatty comes to Sioux Falls after a successful broadcasting and media relations internship with the Rockford RiverHawks of the Frontier League. He was part of the broadcast crew for the 2009 Frontier League All-Star Game in Loves Park, IL. Prior to working with the RiverHawks, Beatty covered baseball as well as men's and women's basketball for Parkland College in Champaign, IL. He worked as Sports Director at WPCD-FM in Champaign where he managed the sports staff for broadcasts of various sporting events. Beatty also recently covered the Northern Athletic Conference baseball tournament.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Beatty works in the off-season with the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship USA at the University of Illinois. He has spent the last five years with InterVarsity, mentoring hundreds of students each year and training them in leadership skills.

I am very grateful for this opportunity and I will work hard to deliver an entertaining, informative and accurate broadcast of each game," added Beatty.
A native of the Chicago, IL area, Beatty is a diehard Cubs fan. He currently resides in Urbana, IL with his wife Christina. They have one cat, Ivy, named after the ivy-covered walls of Wrigley Field.
The Fighting Pheasants begin spring training this Saturday in preparation for their first exhibition game on May 8th in Huron, SD. The Pheasants open regular season play at home on May 13th against the Lincoln Saltdogs.
