Barrie Colts News Release
Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that forward Bryan Cameron has won the Leo Lalonde Memorial Trophy as the Ontario Hockey League Overage Player of the Year for the 2009-10 season.
The OHL made the announcement on Friday afternoon, as Cameron becomes the first Barrie Colt to ever win this award.
Cameron led the league with 53 goals in 62 games played, and chipped in with 25 assists for 78 points and finished third in team scoring.
"It's a great honour for me," said Cameron. "We have some great overage players here in Barrie, including another one on my line so I feel pretty lucky to win this award. Luke (Pither) and I both had really good years and there are a lot of quality overage players around the league so it feels really nice to win this award and I am definitely grateful."
The Brampton native was one of two players to reach the 50-goal plateau this season, breaking an 11-year old Barrie Colts record for most goals in a season. Cameron posted a plus 38 which was tenth best in the league, had three hat-tricks and 23 multi-point games.
Cameron and the Colts will open up round three of their playoff series at home on Wednesday, April 14th.
