Barnstormers Promotional Schedule Is Out Of This World

LANCASTER, Pa.-The Barnstormers aren't holding anything back when it comes to promotions this season! The 2010 Storming Red season of Barnstormers baseball features 25 giveaways, 18 fireworks shows, 10 Dollar Dog Nights presented by Kunzler and BRAND NEW weekly promotions like Quzzio Trivia Challenge on Tuesdays, pre-game parties on Thursdays and on-field post-game parties after every fireworks show. And that isn't even the half of it!

The promotional insanity will begin during spring training when the Barnstormers host Elizabethtown College on Thursday, April 15 at 3:30 p.m. This will be the first Dollar Dog Day of the season; the second will be on Tuesday, April 20 when the Barnstormers take on F&M at 5 p.m. in their last spring training game. The first giveaway of the season will be a 2010 schedule magnet sponsored by Dombrowski Eye Associates given out during a pre-season match-up between the Barnstormers and the York Revolution.

The home opener against the York Revolution on Friday, April 30 features a CODE RED, a red t-shirt giveaway for the first 2,000 fans 16 and older and the first fireworks spectacular of the season! The next night (May 1) will be the first of three Read with the Barnstormers Nights. This season, over 40,000 students have enrolled in the program to earn a FREE youth lawn ticket for reading four books outside of the classroom. The weekend series will wrap up on Sunday, May 2 with a Disability Awareness Day and a Storming Red baseball giveaway.

The team is planning a staggering number of NEW theme nights for the 2010 season and a big component of those nights will be giveaways. A majority of the giveaways coordinate with that night's theme, like a pillow case giveaway the night of the Family Sleepover (August 13). The entire giveaway schedule is listed below:

The team also has 18 fireworks spectaculars planned, including fireworks shows every Saturday home game in June, July and August! The fun continues when the fireworks are over because fans are invited onto the field for a post-game party following every fireworks show!

The 2010 schedule will feature an abundance of theme nights that are a mix of fan favorites and inventive NEW theme nights. Fan favorites include Cylo's Birthday (June 8), Scout Night Sleepovers (June 18, July 30), Dog Days (June 23), Ladies' Night (June 3, September 16), Guys' Night (July 8) and Fan Appreciation Day on (September 19).

Some NEW and creative theme nights that fans will enjoy this season include Salute to Little League presented by Play It Again Sports (May 16), Aviation Night (May 19), Cancer Survivor Night (June 24), Battle of the Bands (August 15), Bike Night presented by Green Mountain Cyclery (August 30) and Millersville University Night (September 3).

The Barnstormers will also welcome some special guests to Clipper Magazine Stadium. Wrestling Night on May 4 will feature an appearance by former professional wrestler George "the Animal" Steele presented by the Harrisburg Hair Club. The Phillie Phanatic will visit his distant cousin Cylo on August 14, and US softball Olympian Jennie Finch will visit the diamond on September 4.

Fans that want to add to their game-worn jersey collection while helping out a great cause should mark their calendars for Saturday, July 10 and Saturday, August 21. The first jersey auction will feature patriotic jerseys presented by Wheatland Federal Credit Union benefiting SALSA Baseball and Batters Up USA. The second jersey auction will benefit the LORi HOPKiNS Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

Sundays will be Lancaster General Health Fit Family Sundays featuring pre-game autographs with the players, pre-game catch on the field and post-game kids run the bases presented by Olly's Shoes. Every Tuesday local trivia host Jim Marlin will host Quizzo Trivia Challenge in the Wheatland Suite, and every Thursday fans can come out early for a pre-game party featuring live music and food and drink specials.

Individual game tickets for the 2010 season go on sale in person only on Saturday, April 3 at 9 a.m. Tickets will be available for purchase online starting at 11 a.m. that same day, and the stadium box office will open for regular season hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) beginning Monday, April 5.
