
Sea Dogs Announce Nominees For 2009-10 Team Awards

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today a partial list of nominees for the club's 2009-10 Team Awards. The Fifth Annual Sea Dogs Awards Banquet will be held this coming Monday, March 15 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Delta Brunswick Hotel. Single tickets and full tables for this gala event are currently available for purchase by calling the team office at (506) 632-9260.

Other awards that will be handed out on Monday include the Coca-Cola Top Scorer Award, the Children's Wish Foundation Fan Choice Award, and the Alpine Three Stars Award. The Sea Dogs' Aliant Most Valuable Player, Investors Group Top Defenseman, and Rookie of the Year will be named upon the conclusion of the 2010 President's Cup Playoffs.
The Sea Dogs (52-11-1-1) kick off a three-game road trip against the Screaming Eagles tonight at Centre 200 (puck drop: 7pm). Sunday's regular season finale versus the Wildcats (8pm, Moncton Coliseum) will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet as the Canadian Hockey League's Game of the Week.
Saint John captured the Jean Rougeau Trophy as QMJHL regular season champions this past weekend and will have home ice advantage throughout the upcoming playoffs. Sea Dogs post-season tickets go on sale this coming Saturday, March 13 at 12pm noon at the Harbour Station Box Office (657-1234 or www.tickets.harbourstation.ca). Game One of the Sea Dogs' opening round series will be played at Harbour Station on Friday, March 19 at 7:30pm versus either P.E.I. or Cape Breton.
