Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
A J.T. Brown goal 2:49 into overtime lifted the Waterloo Black Hawks to a 4-3 win against the Sioux Falls Stampede at Young Arena Sunday afternoon.
Brown banged in the rebound from Dan Sova's shot after the Stampede overcame a 2-0 third period deficit to force the extra time. Scores from Matt Lindblad and Conor Allen at 13:33 and 17:28 respectively tied the match. Tyler Barnes pushed the Black Hawks back ahead with 1:27 to play, again scoring on a rebound, but a turnover off a faceoff allowed Michael Voran to tie the game 34 seconds later.
The Black Hawks had pulled ahead with two first period goals. Jon Puskar scored his first as a Black Hawk, set up by Derek Arnold from behind the net during a power play at 14:14. Then Brown took advantage of a neutral zone turnover and followed his initial shot to score on a second chance at 17:38.
Waterloo plays for the fourth time in nine days on Tuesday in Sioux City against the Musketeers at 7:05.
