A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR ME: The Ice swept the Des Moines Buccaneers with a 5-1 win on Friday night followed by a 4-3 victory on Saturday evening.
2/12 vs. DES- The Ice scored five times in the second period to blow the game wide open. Max Cook led the offense with a pair of goals, while Cab Morris stopped 17 shots in net.
2/13 vs. DES- Chis Martin's goal midway through the third period proved to be the game-winner as the Ice held on after letting the "Bucs" tie the game at three in the third.
HOME SWEET HOME: With the two weekend victories, the Ice has won a season-best five straight games at home. In those five wins, Indiana has outscored their opponents 23-11. In addition, Indiana has won six of their last seven contests and is 15-5-1 overall at home this year.
MYSTERIOUS WAYS: With five goals in a 7:02 stretch of the second period in Friday's win against Des Moines, the Ice tied the franchise record for most goals in a period and for the second time in just over a year it came at the expense of the Buccaneers. Indy also scored five goals in a span of 6:39 on 12/31/08 to rally from a 5-1 deficit to defeat Des Moines 6-5.
TOP SHELF CHEF: Forward Max Cook enters this week's action on an Ice season-best four-game goal scoring streak which includes five goals overall. The second-year Iceman is second on the team in points (35), goals (16) and multi-goal games (2) and is now one game shy of 100 for his Ice career.
CLAP ZONE: Max Cook (5G) and Bryon Paulazzo (G, 4A) are riding four-game point streaks....Nick has points in seven of his last eight games....Antti Roppo has points in six of his last seven contests....Cab Morris is first in SV % (.923) and second in GAA (2.20) in the USHL....Anthony Bitetto has 14 points (4G, 10A) in his last 11 games....Kevin Goumas has five points (2G, 3A) in his last five games....Two of Chris Martin's three goals have been game-winners....Max Cook and Blake Coleman scored just :23 seconds apart in the second period of Saturday's win against Des Moines which was an Ice season-best for fastest two goals.
TEAM PRAISE: The Ice is 15-5-0 against the East and 10-10-2 against the West...Indiana has outscored their opponents 56-35 in the second period of games this year.
