
Spirit Lose To Battalion 1-0

(Saginaw, MI) The Saginaw Spirits suffered a 1-0 loss Thursday night to the defending OHL Eastern Conference champion's the Brampton Battalion. Saginaw's record stands at 22-21-4-1, with 49 points on the season.
The Battalion scored the game's lone goal in the first period, with winger Shane Kinsella scoring with his first goal of the season at the 8:16 mark. The goal was assisted by winger Ian Watters and center Domenic Alberga. Despite the back-and-forth action, the score stayed steady throughout the next two frames - the Spirit were unable to break onto the scoreboard and lost the game 1-0.
Spirit netminder Edward Pasquale (NHL Atlanta Thrashers) posted 23 saves on 24 shots, while Battalion goalie Patrick Killeen ended the game with 23 saves on 23 shots.

The Spirit will face the Sarnia Sting in back to back games starting on the road this Friday, January 29.
