HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc fell twice over the weekend to the Knoxville Ice Bears losing a 6-4 decision on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday.
Friday, January 22 - Huntsville 4, Knoxville 6
KNOXVILLE, TN - Ray Ortiz scored two goals but it wasn't enough as the Huntsville Havoc fell 6-4 to the Knoxville Ice Bears.
Mike MacDonald and Mike Carter also scored goals for the Havoc while Tim Vitek recorded a hat-trick for the Ice Bears. Mark Van Vliet, Frank Furdero and Donald Melynk also scored for Knoxville.
Andrew Gallant made 17 saves in the loss while Dan McWhinney made 27 in the loss.
Saturday, January 23 - Huntsville 1, Knoxville 4
KNOXVILLE, TN - The Knoxville Ice Bears got three third period goals on their way to a 4-1 win over the Huntsville Havoc Saturday night.
Mike Kneeland gave the Ice Bears a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission and Bill McCreary tied the game at 1-1 in the second period.
Kevin Harris, Frank Furdero and Donald Melnyk all found the back of the net in the third period.
Dan McWhinney allowed three goals and made 29 saves in the loss while Andrew Gallant made 34 in the win.
