
Somerset Patriots Pitcher Jason Standridge Signed By Philadelphia Phillies

Bridgewater, NJ - The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced that right-handed pitcher Jason Standridge has been signed by the Philadelphia Phillies and will report to Spring Training with the team.
Standridge finished the 2009 season with the Patriots with a 4-4 record and 88 strikeouts in 100 innings pitched in 18 appearances. His most notable victory came in Game Four of the Atlantic League Championship Series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Standridge tossed a complete game, allowing one run on five hits and seven strikeouts to help the Patriots capture their fifth title and first ever back-to-back championship seasons.
Prior to joining the Patriots, Standridge spent the beginning of the 2009 season at the Triple-A Level with the Florida Marlins organization.
Standridge has parts of seven seasons of Major League experience, including time with the Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, and Kansas City Royals. He most recently appeared with the Royals, striking out six batters in 7.2 innings in 2007.
Standridge has a minor league career 4.03 ERA and 789 strikeouts in 246 appearances. He has recorded over 1,100 innings of service at the minor league level.
