(York, Pa.): The York Revolution have launched the return of their popular reading program, "Rev-Up-Reading" for 2010. So far, more than 30 schools and 15,000 students have already signed up. Designed to entice students to embrace reading as a fun activity, this year's program comes with a whole new set of perks for students, including a FREE field box ticket to a Revolution game. The Revs have debuted an entertaining new in-school assembly as well, with visits from DownTown at area schools.

As part of the program, students can receive a FREE field box ticket to their choice of Revs home game on either Friday, May 14; Saturday, May 29; or Wednesday, June 2.

The brand new assembly program for schools participating in the program is already a big hit among students and teachers alike. The assembly features an educational story, based on Aesop's fable "The Grasshopper and the Ants" acted out by DownTown. Opening Day for the assembly was Friday, January 15 at Wrightsville Elementary.

Additional incentives for participating in "Rev-Up-Reading" this season include: participating in Reading Nights at Sovereign Bank Stadium, other school events, player/staff visits to individual classrooms, donation of tickets to your school for our Teacher/Staff Appreciation Night at the ballpark, and Perfect Attendance Night. Anything else that you can dream up that might be beneficial to encourage reading, we'll do our best to make that work too!

Schools are also now being offered the opportunity to participate in the Revolution's popular NO RISK, NO MONEY DOWN fundraising program. For each ticket that is purchased online as part of the fundraising program, FOUR DOLLARS will be donated directly to your school. It is not mandatory for the reading program, but rather an attractive, additional option.

Within the "Rev-Up-Reading" program, students are encouraged to read four books (or have four books read to them) outside of the curriculum that their teachers have created. Once four books are completed, the teacher will then sign off on a special bookmark provided to the students by the Revolution. Each bookmark has a voucher on the back with directions to receive the FREE field box ticket and purchase additional tickets to the reading program games.

Rev-Up-Reading is a fantastic and fun way to encourage and reward students to read more books during the school year. The program is open to all public and private-schooled students.

To sign up for the program, please contact Tim Beckwith at (717) 801-4486 or TBeckwith@YorkRevolution.com.
