Cousineau Signs Entry-Level Deal With Anaheim Ducks

SAINT JOHN, NB --- The National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks announced late yesterday that the team has signed Saint John Sea Dogs goalie Marco Cousineau to a three-year entry-level contract. Per Ducks club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Cousineau was originally selected by Anaheim in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Saint John acquired the 20-year old net minder via a trade with the Prince Edward Island Rocket on December 30, 2009. In three games played since joining the Sea Dogs, Cousineau has recorded a 2-1 record in addition to a 2.94 G.A.A. and 0.896 SV%.

A native of Les Cedr=E8s, QC, Cousineau backstopped the Drummondville Voltigeurs to a President's Cup Championship last season, registering a record of 13-3 in addition to a G.A.A. of 2.44 and a SV% of 0.910 during the '09 QMJHL post-season. He was subsequently named the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy winner as the top goaltender at the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup Tournament in Rimouski, QC.

Currently leading the QMJHL with a record of 36-7-1-0, Saint John's next game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 16, at 7pm versus Acadie-Bathurst at Harbour Station.
