Bourret Suspended By Sea Dogs

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today that rookie defenseman Gabriel Bourret has been suspended by the team indefinitely for violating the club's player conduct policy. No further comment will be issued on the matter.

Bourret, 17, was originally selected by Saint John in the sixth round (104th overall) of the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft. The Laprairie, QC native has recorded 23GP-2G-4A-6P-14PIM for the Sea Dogs this season. Bourret appeared in 43 games with Charles Lemoyne College (QCMAAA) last year, registering 5G-14A-19P in addition to 50PIM.

Currently leading the QMJHL with a record of 36-7-1-0, Saint John's next game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 16, at 7pm versus Acadie-Bathurst at Harbour Station.
