
Toros Make First Roster Move of the Season

Austin, TX December 16, 2009 - The Austin Toros today announced that they acquired Eddie Basden and waived Ryan Bright. Basden will join the Toros on the road and play on Friday night against the Albuquerque Thunderbirds.
Basden, 26, is a 6-5, 216 guard/forward who played collegiate ball at Charlotte and earned Conference Player of the year in 2005, and Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005. He is the Conference USA and Charlotte all-time leader in steals. His jersey (#13) was retired in February, 2009.
Basden appeared in 19 games for the Chicago Bulls and averaged 2.1 points per game during the 2005-06 season. He averaged 8.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while in Turkey competing in the Euroleague.
The Toros are on the road this week and will take on the Albuquerque Thunderbirds on Friday at 8:00p.m. CST. Fans can see Basden by logging onto nba.com/dleague to watch futurecast online, at no charge.
