Crunch And American Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive

Syracuse, NY (December 14, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch and the Crunch Foundation, the club's charitable arm, announced today that they are partnering with the American Red Cross to hold a blood drive on Friday, December 18 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Memorial Hall at the War Memorial at Oncenter.

Anyone that donates blood will receive one (1) free ticket to that night's game vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, an autographed t-shirt and will be entered into a raffle to win a Crunch team-signed stick.

Fans are encouraged to contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543 or visit www.donatebloodnow.org to schedule an appointment. Photo ID is required and walk-ins are welcome.

In addition, Dunkin' Donuts will be providing food and beverages to all donors.

Some four million people give blood - the gift of life - through the Red Cross, making it the largest supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. 3,200 units of blood are needed every month in Onondaga County.

The Crunch's next game is Tuesday, December 15, as they travel to Rochester to battle the Americans at 7:05 p.m. The Crunch return home on Friday, December 18 to take on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:30 p.m. Season and single-game tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444 or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
