Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the hockey team will donate funds raised from its Star Toss promotion during all December home games to the WEASE CARES Children's Fund. As part of the partnership, the Amerks will hold a WEASE CARES Night on Tuesday, December 15th at the 7:05 p.m. game at The Blue Cross Arena.

"Wease is an institution in Rochester and so are the Amerks. It seems like a natural to have the two of us team up," said Amerks President Lewis Staats. "We are happy to support Brother Wease with his WEASE CARES Children's Fund at Christmas time and help him put a smile on a few more kids' faces in Rochester."

On Tuesday, the Rochester Knighthawks/Amerks Charitable Foundation, Inc. will donate $1.00 for each ticket sold through Ticketmaster to the children's fund. That night, fans can also purchase a teddy bear for $15 to benefit WEASE CARES.

"I've always loved my Amerks," said Brother Wease. "And getting together with them to help out the children is the greatest. I couldn't be happier with all their help, especially during the holidays!"

Fans can also participate in the Star Toss during the second intermission of the Rochester-Syracuse Crunch game. Stars are sold for $1.00 or in groups of six for $5.00. Half of the proceeds raised will be presented to the winner of the contest, while the other half will be donated to WEASE CARES through the Rochester Knighthawks/Amerks Charitable Foundation, Inc.
