
Former Stampede Players Named CCHA Players Of The Week

Former Stampede teammates took home awards on Monday. Former forward Corey Tropp has been named Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Offensive Player-of-the-Week while defenseman Zach Redmond has been named CCHA Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Both players were members of the Stampede's Clark Cup championship team in 2007.
Tropp posted six points (4g, 2a) for Michigan State in a weekend sweep of Bowling Green State University. Tropp had the tying goal late in the third period Friday and then set up the game winner in overtime in a 3-2 win for Michigan State. On Saturday, Tropp recorded a hat trick and added an assist in a 4-1 Michigan State win. Tropp leads the nation in scoring with 27 points on 16 goals and 11 assists in 20 games. Tropp is in his junior season with the Spartans and is also an assistant captain this season.
Redmond had a goal and two assists and finished the weekend a plus-2 as he helped Ferris State sweep Western Michigan. Redmond is also in his junior season and an assistant captain with the Bulldogs. He is their top scoring defenseman with 15 points on two goals and 13 assists.
