Bring The Amerks Home For The Holidays

December 10, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Want to hang Rochester Americans right wing Graham Mink from your Christmas Tree this year? Well, since it's not physically possible to hoist the 220-pounder onto your tree, how about hanging an ornament decorated by one of the Amerks' leading scorers?

Fans will now have a chance to take home specially-designed ornaments created by the players as part of the Rochester Americans' Wives and Girlfriends Holiday Ornament Sale and Auction. All the proceeds will go to Rochester Knighthawks/Americans Charitable Foundation, Inc.

"You won't want to miss this opportunity," said Cristina Mink, who is the organizer and wife of Amerk Graham Mink. "It is a great chance to purchase collectible Amerks items, as well as donate to charity."

During home games on Friday, December 11th; Friday, December 18th and Sunday, December 20th, the Amerks' wives and girlfriends will be set up near Sections 213 and 214 and auctioning off and selling holiday ornaments. There are two separate ways to obtain ornaments during the three games. Fans can either enter to win through a Chinese Auction or purchase smaller ornaments in the Ornament Sale.

The Chinese Auction features the individually-decorated ornaments by each player. During the three games, fans can purchase raffle tickets to drop into their favorite players' bins. The winner will be chosen at the start of the third period on Sunday, December 20th.

The Ornament Sale features the smaller white ornaments that will be signed by the whole team and sold all three nights for $10. Cash and checks are preferred, but credit cards will also be accepted.
