KEARNEY, NE - Rick Pinkston of the Tri-City Storm has committed to play for Dartmouth College in the Fall of 2011. With the decision, he will return to play with the Storm next season before suiting up with the Big Green.

The 6-foot-1, 198 pound defenseman is in his second season with the Storm and has one goal and an assist in 19 games this season. Pinkston leads the team in penalty minutes with 61 PIM.

"I felt it was the best decision for me, not only for the next four to five years, but the next forty as well," said the native of Trenton, Mich. "It's a supreme education and with an excellent hockey program that has a rich tradition."

"It has always been a dream of mine to play for an Ivy League school."

Dartmouth is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, and plays in the ECAC in NCAA Div. I hockey.

"With this aside, I want to focus on helping the team (Storm) win games and make the playoffs," Pinkston said. "Personally, I want to get better in all aspects of the game and become a solid leader on the ice, as well as off the ice."

Before joining the Storm, Pinkston played for the midget club - Detroit Little Caesars - for three seasons.

"We are excited and proud of Rick and his decision to commit to Dartmouth," Head Coach/General Manager Drew Schoneck added. "He has made great strides this season as a player, and we look forward to his continued development."

Tri-City now has 10 players who are committed to NCAA Division I schools. Tucker Brockett (Princeton University), Anthony DeCenzo (University of Vermont), Radoslav Illo (Bemidji State University), Nate Jensen (Mercyhurst College), Luke McManus (University of Minnesota-Duluth), Michael Montrose (Bowling Green State University), Cody Murphy (Miami University-Ohio), Jaden Schwartz (Colorado College) and Maxwell Tardy (University of Minnesota-Duluth).
