
Ice Bears Win Again In High Scoring Affair

Knoxville Ice Bears captain Kevin Swider scored a hat-trick tonight in a hard-fought win over the Fayetteville FireAntz. A host of other Ice Bears also put points on the board in the 7-6 victory.
Four Ice Bears players, Grant Farrell, Kevin Swider, Chris Brannen and Taylor Hustead lit the lamp for seven goals beating the FireAntz for the second time in the regular season. Fayetteville was the first to score. Steve Cooke and Rob Sich both scored in the first before Ice Bears defenseman Grant Farrell answered back with a goal assisted by Tim Vitek and Kevin Harris.
It became a scoring race in the second period with each team getting three goals. The Ice Bears remained focused, and Grant Farrell scored the winning goal mid-way through the third period. Four Ice Bears players also put up a significant number of assists. Travis Martell had two, Tim Vitek four, Kevin Harris two and Mark Van Vliet three.
The Ice Bears play their next three games on the road.
