Chicago Sky News Release
CHICAGO, December 4, 2009 - The Chicago Sky's Steven Key and Stephanie White will attend The 23rd Annual Chicago Sports Fans Choice Awards along with other past and current Chicago sports greats from the Bears, Cubs and White Sox. The event will be held at the Café La Cave in Des Plaines from 6-9pm on Monday, December 7.
Key was honored with an award at last year's event. This year, WNBA All-Star forward Candice Dupree and second-year guard Kristi Toliver are both nominated for awards.
The night is designed to showcase Chicago's professional sports franchises in an effort to benefit local foundations including the Walter & Connie Payton Foundation, Bear Necessities and a pediatric cancer foundation. In addition to handing out awards based on fan balloting, two different silent auctions will be held to raise money.
"It's a great night to showcase the professional athletes that compete in Chicago and their organizations," said Key. "Winning an award at this event is special because the winners are determined by the fans in Chicago."
