Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - Al Murray, the Head Scout of Hockey Canada, will be the guest speaker at the Northern Lights Casino Luncheon, December 21st in the Ches Leach Lounge as part of the build up to the Under 20 Pre Competition game between Austria and Switzerland. Both Team Austria and Team Switzerland will be in attendance and introduced at the luncheon which runs from Noon 1:30 PM.Prince Albert Comedian Kelly Taylor will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event which will include a presentation from Murray and a Hockey Canada video.
Murray, formerly the head scout of the Los Angeles Kings, is in his third year as the Head Scout for Hockey Canada selecting the Under 20, Under 18 and Under 17 teams that compete internationally. At the banquet, Murray is expected to talk about the final roster he will have just selected for the 2010 World Junior Championships. His next assignment for Hockey Canada will be in Timmins, Ontario and the World Under 17 Challenge which begins December 29.
There also will be a silent auction at the luncheon with items to include: autographed Team Canada, Team Switzerland and Team Austria jerseys and tickets to Team Canada games at the World Junior Championships in Saskatoon. There also will be vintage Team Canada jerseys autographed by Wayne Gretzky and Kyle Chipchura available.
Tables of 8 for the event are $400 which includes 8 tickets to see Austria play Switzerland December 21st at 7:00 PM and the post game cabaret featuring Tim Toutant courtesy Molson Coors Canada.
