Kingston Frontenacs News Release
The Kingston Frontenacs are pleased to announce that after the on-line Ebay auction for the Don Cherry sweaters that ended on Saturday, October 31st, the total was $22,557.56.
"We are ecstatic!" said owner and Governor Doug Springer. "This was an unbelievable response from not only Canadians but Americans as well in support of a great cause! The generosity was outstanding," he added.
All twenty-three sweaters we purchased, with the highest two sweaters, Captain Brian Lashoff and Charles Sarault fetching $1,642.73 a piece.
"The final tally is dizzying," said Jeff Stilwell, Director of Marketing, Public, Media and Player Relations. "We had sweaters purchased from all over. Five were purchased by local Kingstonians, eight stayed in Ontario, four went to Alberta, two to B.C. and one each to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New York and Pennsylvannia," he added.
"The success of the event was beyond our expectations," said Michelle Skolnick, Director of Business Development and Community Relations Coordinator.
"We are proud to be able to present this amount to the Soldier On charity and would like to thank everyone that participated in the on-line auction in this extremely worthwhile cause," added Doug Springer.
