
Bears Travel To Hartford Friday, River Rats In Town Saturday

The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club wraps up the month of October with a road game in Hartford Friday night, and a home date Saturday against the Albany River Rats. The Chocolate and White begin the new week tied with the Rats atop the East Division standings. Beginning Friday night in Hartford, HERSHEY will play five of its next six games in New England against Atlantic Division competition.

Bouchard has a big week: Right wing Francois Bouchard is HERSHEY'S nominee for American Hockey League player of the week honors. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native picked up his first three goals of the season this weekend, including two goals against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Friday night at Wachovia Arena.
Miskovic on the board: Rookie defenseman Zach Miskovic picked up his first professional point Sunday at home against the Portland Pirates. The rookie blueliner out of St. Lawrence University led the NCAA in goals by defenseman last season.
Practice schedule: HERSHEY will skate at GIANT Center Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. for practice. The players and coaches are available for interviews after practice each day, with a shorter interview session Thursday as the team departs for Hartford.
Giroux and Aucoin in D.C.: Left Wing Alexandre Giroux and center Keith Aucoin were both recalled to Washington this past Thursday, and both have provided an offensive spark for Bruce Boudreau's team. Giroux scored his first NHL goal of the season last Thursday in Atlanta, and Aucoin picked up goal number one with a lamp-lighter Saturday against the New York Islanders.
Washington update: The Capitals return to Verizon Center this Tuesday night to face the Philadelphia Flyers at 7:00 p.m. Washington heads into Tuesday's action having won four games in a row. Heading into the new week, the Caps are in first place in the Southeast Division, five points ahead of Atlanta and Tampa Bay in second position.
