Marlies Announce 2009-10 Opening Day Roster

October 2, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) Toronto Marlies

A proud member of the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies released their 2009-10 opening day roster. The Marlies, who will begin their fifth season in Toronto, open with 22 skaters and two goaltenders.

The Marlies 2009-10 roster consists of goaltenders Joey MacDonald and James Reimer; defenceman Brendan Mikkelson, Phil Oreskovic, Josh Engel, Todd Perry, Carl Gunnarsson, Brennan Evans, Jonas Frogren and Juraj Mikus; and forwards Darryl Boyce, Jiri Tlusty, Ryan Hamilton, Andre Deveaux, Robert Slaney, Richard Greenop, Greg Scott, Christian Hanson, Tyler Bozak, Alex Foster, Ben Ondrus, Alex Berry, Dale Mitchell and Kyle Rogers.

In addition, the club announced that Stefano Giliati, Andrew Engelage, Eric Werner and Joe Ryan have all been reassigned to the Reading Royals for the ECHL and Mikhail Stefanovich has been assigned to the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL).

Beau Erickson and Tom Galvin have both been released from their try-out contracts.

The Marlies open the 2009-10 regular season on Sunday, October 4 against their division-rivals, the Hamilton Bulldogs at 4 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.
