Everblades Sign Former Ed Chynoweth Cup Winner

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced the signing of forward Jason Reese today. Reese becomes the 19th player signed by Florida for the upcoming season. He participated in the San Antonio Rampage training camp of the American Hockey League prior to signing with the Everblades. This will be Reese's first professional contract after completing six seasons in the Western Hockey League.

"Jason is exceptionally skilled on the power-play and will add another unique dimension to our team," said coach Malcolm Cameron. "He plays well in traffic, he is willing to go into corners and works extremely hard off the ice."

Reese appeared in 69 games with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL last season. He finished tied for first on the team in points, scored 31 goals and 50 assists for 81 points with 79 penalty minutes. From 2007-09 the 5-foot-10, 187-pound forward scored 55 goals and 108 assists for 163 points with 123 penalty minutes. In total, Reese has appeared in 317 games (all in the WHL), scoring 97 goals with 176 assists for 273 points and racked up 246 penalty minutes. He also has appeared in 46 WHL Playoff battles scoring 14 goals, 17 assists for 31 points and 31 penalty minutes.

In the 2005-06 Western Hockey League playoffs, Reese appeared in the WHL Championship with the Vancouver Giants winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup. In 2007-08 playoffs, the Gresham, Oregon native appeared in 16 games for the Tri-City Americans. He registered four markers, nine helpers and 13 points with 18 penalty minutes leading his team to the Western Conference Finals before losing in seven games to eventual league champions, the Spokane Chiefs.
