Montreal Assigns Sergei Kostitsyn To Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Sergei Kostitsyn has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Canadiens.

Kostitsyn, 22, played in three pre-season games with Montreal recording one goal and five penalty minutes. The native of Novopolotsk, Belarus played in 16 games with the Bulldogs last season earning 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and 18 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 190-pound right wing also competed in 56 games with the Canadiens in 2008-2009 registering 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) along with 64 penalty minutes. Kostitsyn was drafted by Montreal in the 7th round, 200th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs finish their pre-season on Wednesday, September 30th when they face the Toronto Marlies at General Motors Centre at 7:00 p.m. Fans can listen to every 'Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
