Maine Celtics News Release

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that they will play their only 2009-10 preseason game at the Augusta Civic Center on November 23. The announcement was made by Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings at an Augusta Kiwanis meeting today.

"As the state capital, Augusta seemed like the perfect location to launch the inaugural season of the Maine Red Claws," Jennings said. "The November 23 preseason game at the Augusta Civic Center will be the first opportunity for basketball fans to see the Red Claws play. It will also be the first game ever for the Springfield Armor, who are also new to the NBA D-League this season."

Tickets for the November 23 preseason game will go on sale Friday, September 25 at 8 AM and will be available at the Augusta Civic Center Box Office, online at ticketmaster.com or by phone by calling (207) 626-2400. The Augusta Civic Center Box Office is open 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. The game will start at 7:00 PM, and before the game, the Red Claws will host a special lecture style basketball clinic from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM to be followed by a player autograph session from 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM. Both events are open to all fans with a ticket to the game.

Red Claws' season tickets have become a hot commodity as the expansion team continues to outpace all other teams in the 16-team NBA Development League in tickets sold and revenue. The team is closing in on the 1,300 mark for season tickets sold and group tickets for five full games have already sold out. Individual tickets will be available for purchase in mid-October.
