Vipers To Host Local Tryouts October 3-4

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that they are holding open tryouts on October 3 and 4 at the McAllen Convention Center as part of RGV Rocket Launch 2009.
The first day of tryouts will run from 8:00 a.m-to-2:00 p.m., while those invited back will tryout immediately following Houston Rockets practice from 5:30-to-8:30 p.m. on day two.
Registration costs $150 per person and must be completed in advance by contacting the Vipers by phone (956-972-1144) or at the Vipers Pro- Shop at 4500 North 10th Street at Uptown Plaza in McAllen. The tryout will be limited to 100 participants.
Vipers coaches will conduct the tryout. Rockets staff will be on hand for day two.
"This is a great opportunity for local athletes to showcase their abilities to both the Vipers and the Rockets and try to earn an opportunity to be a part of Vipers Training Camp, which begins on November 14," Vipers President/GM Brian Michael Cooper said.
