Training Camp Day 3 Recap

Kamloops, BC * Day 3 of training camp had a different look then the first couple of days because of the deletion of 33 players yesterday as the roster is down to 61 players. Three new teams were formed and the day featured each team practicing once and playing twice. The schedule and teams will be the same tomorrow.

There was one roster change to note today, as Braden Crone has been released leaving the team with 60 players.

In the games today, Team Blue was off to a quick start with a 6-3 win in the 5PM game. Team Blue was led by Dylan Willick (list player) with a pair of goals, and stellar goaltending by Kyle Baumgardner in the first half of the game. Brendan Ranford had 2 goals in a losing effort.

In the 6:15PM game, Team Orange defeated Team Blue 5-3. Team Orange's Tyler Shattock had 2 goals for the winning side and John Keeney was solid in goal stopping 11 of 12 pucks he faced.

The final contest of the day featured Team Orange winning 7-4 over Team White. Team Orange was led by Jake Trask with 2 goals. The game featured some fisticuffs with Brendan Ranford and Curtis Kulchar squaring off, as well as Brett Lyon and Ryan Hanes (5th round 2007). Ranford had a hat trick in a losing cause.

Training Camp Day 4 continues tomorrow with pracitces at 9AM, 10:30AM and 12PM and games at 5PM, 6:15PM and 7:30PM.

The Blue White game is only two days away as it will be held Tuesday, August 25th 7PM at the ISC.
