VERSUS STATEN ISLAND:

The ‘Birds are 2-4 versus the Yankees this season and 31-44 all time. Each team has hosted a 3-game series this season.

ALLEN RECEIVES NO DECISION:

Colin Allen took the mound last night against the Hudson Valley Renegades. Allen went 4.2 innings, gave up three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

HITTING NUGGETS:

The ‘Birds have five players on hitting streaks. Justin Dalles leads the way with three. Trailing with two are T.J. Baxter, Arthur Bonevacia, Steve Bumbry and Levi Carolus.

KANTAKEVICH TAKES THE MOUND:

Pat Kantakevich takes the mound tonight against the Yankees. Kantakevich's last outing was July 28 at Brooklyn where he 6.0 innings, gave up no runs, five hits while striking out four and walking two. This is Kantakevich's second game versus Staten Island. His last outing against the Yankees was on June 30 at Staten Island where he went 4.2 innings, gave up two runs on two hits while striking out two and walking four.

HOME WOES:

The ‘Birds are only 10-11 at home this season. The ‘Birds look to August to start a comeback and rise atop the McNamara division standings.

CAROLUS GOLD STANDARD:

Levi Carolus is currently leading the team in six offensive categories: average, hits, RBI, doubles, stolen bases and slugging percentage. Carolus went 0-3 last night with three strikeouts ending his current hitting streak. Carolus looks start another streak tonight against the Yankess.

DALLES LEADS THE WAY:

Justin Dalles led the way offensively for the IronBirds last night in the season finale against the Hudson Valley renegades. Dalles went 1-4 with two runs as he extendd his hitting streak to four games, his longest hitting streak of the season.
