Arkansas Travelers News Release
Arkansas Traveler manager Bobby Magallanes has been suspended two games by the Texas League for bumping umpire Dan Oliver during Saturday's extra-innings loss at Northwest Arkansas. Travelers hitting coach Francisco Matos will act as interim manager during Magallanes' suspension, which will span the final two games of the Arkansas series with Midland on Friday and Saturday.
Magallanes was ejected in the top of the 10th inning of Saturday's 4-3 defeat at Arvest Ballpark after arguing with plate umpire Oliver for calling strike three on a pitch that batter Peter Bourjos claimed nicked his left elbow. Magallanes argued for several minutes during the inning break and was finally ejected after bumping into Oliver. The Naturals won the game in the bottom of the 10th with a walkoff home run off the bat of shortstop Jeff Bianchi.
