Dunedin Blue Jays News Release
A short but strong rainstorm 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch of Friday night's game between the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Charlotte Stone Crabs rendered the field at Dunedin Stadium unplayable, postponing play until Saturday.
The game will be made up as game one of a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Dunedin Stadium. The second game will begin approximately a half hour after the end of the first game. Both games will go seven innings instead of the normal nine.
Both starters from today's game, Vince Bongiovanni for Dunedin and David Newmann for Charlotte, are scheduled to throw in tomorrow's opener.
Tomorrow's scheduled game day promotion, Pizza Fest '09, will still go off as planned and at the regularly scheduled time of 6 p.m., as local pizzerias will be looking to find out who has the best pizza in Dunedin.
