
Bombers Welcome Wes Bauer

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Football Club is pleased to welcome Wes Bauer to Manitoba. On June 15, 2009, Winnipegger Wes Bauer will arrive in Winnipeg during his cross-Canadian cycling journey to raise funds and awareness for cancer, Chase the Cure, through his hometown.
Lyle Bauer, Wes' father, will be riding in with him, as will Honourary Ride Captain and CFL all-star Doug Brown. Once Wes arrives in Winnipeg, he will ride to Canad Inns Stadium where the Winnipeg Football Club will be putting on a welcome bar-b-que.
Lyle Bauer, the President and CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, has survived cancer, and is part of the inspiration for Wes' national journey.
Media are invited to film the ride in and bar-b-que and interview Wes about his personal experience with cancer, and how his father's battle with it inspired Wes to make a difference and contribute to the end of the disease that affects millions of Canadians every year.
