Royals, Grizzlies Rained Out Tuesday

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals game vs. the Fresno Grizzlies, scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Tuesday night at Rosenblatt Stadium, has been postponed due to rain. The two teams will make it up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 27, with the first pitch of the opening game at 5:05 p.m.

The pitching matchup in game one Wednesday is Fresno lefty Steve Hammond (2-2, 4.32) vs. Royals left-hander Bruce Chen (1-2, 4.76), followed in the nightcap by Grizzlies righty Matt Kinney (2-5, 6.60) vs. Omaha right-hander Brandon Duckworth (2-1, 4.71).

Wednesday is the first of seven Subway Kids Eat Free Nights of the season. When the stadium gates open at 4:30 p.m., the 1st 100 kids 12-and-under receive a free personal pizza from Subway and all kids after that get a free hot dog and Coke. Subway Kids Club members get a FREE ticket to the game! Plus, it's Mark Goblowsky's Martial Arts Night, with area martial arts studios performing throughout the night. The night is also presented by Star 104.5, KXVO-CW 15 and The West O, the Midtown O and the Sarpy Sun Newspapers.

Tuesday night marked the third home game postponed this season by inclement weather. The Royals had not been impacted by weather since they had back-to-back games vs. Oklahoma City postponed on April 25th-26th.
