Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Lookouts extended their winning streak to a season-high three games on Wednesday afternoon at AT&T Field. After a see-saw battle that resulted in the game going into extra innings, Andrew Lambo quickly settled the score by blasting a 1-0 pitch into the stratosphere to lead off the bottom of the tenth inning. As a result, the Lookouts came away with a 7-6 win over the Huntsville Stars. Huntsville got off to an early lead by scoring a run in the first frame and another run in the second, but the Lookouts halved the deficit in the bottom of the second. Gaby Martinez doubled and scampered home on a J.D. Closer single to center. Chattanooga tied-up the score in the fourth inning and added two more runs in the fifth to take the lead. Andrew Lambo blasted a double to plate the first run and scored the second run of the inning on a Jamie Hoffman single. The Stars added a run in the sixth, but two more runs on a Drew T. Anderson double in the eighth gave them the lead once again. After loading the bases, a Shane Justis hit by pitch gave Huntsville a 6-4 edge. The relentless Lookouts, however, evened-up the score in the bottom portion of the eighth. Andrew Lambo began the rally with a walk and scored on a Jamie Hoffman double. A Gaby Martinez single off of the second baseman's glove enabled Hoffman to score. Despite scoring threats by both teams in the ninth inning, no runs crossed the plate, and the game went into extra innings. Lookouts reliever Jacobo Meque (1-3) entered the tenth inning by retiring all three batters he faced, two of whom via the strikeout. Andrew Lambo quickly ended the game with one powerful swing off of Derrick Ellison (1-1), giving the Lookouts the 7-6 win. Tomorrow, Chattanooga will hit the road to play a five-game series against the Carolina Mudcats. Tickets for this games or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
