
Marlies Release Andrew Martens From PTO Contract

Jeff Jackson, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has released defenceman Andrew Martens from his professional try-out contract.
Martens, 27, appeared in 16 games this season with Toronto, posting one goal and five assists for six points and six penalty minutes. The 6'1, 205- pound defenceman played in both playoff games against the Manitoba Moose.
The Marlies play Game 3 of their North Division Semifinal series today at Ricoh Coliseum against the Manitoba Moose - AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks - at 4:00 p.m. Toronto will host Games 4 & 5 at Ricoh Coliseum on Tuesday and Thursday night, both 7:00 p.m. start times. Today's game will air live on Rogers TV Cable 10 in Toronto and 63 in Scarborough. The FAN 590 will air all Marlies playoff games as either a radio or web broadcast.
