FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas tonight defeated Clube Atletico Paranaense at Pizza Hut Park in the team's final preseason match before the start of the 2009 Major League Soccer season. After FCD had fallen 4-3 in the first leg in Curitiba, tonight's 1-0 score at the end of regulation evened the aggregate score of the third annual USA-Brazil Challenge friendly series, and penalty kicks were needed to decide the winner. Atletico Paranaense then edged Dallas 5-4 on penalties to claim the series title. A full recap of tonight's game is available at FCDallas.com.
FC Dallas will kick off the 2009 regular season next Saturday, March 21 at Pizza Hut Park versus the Chicago Fire (7:30 p.m. CT).
