
Dream Trades Alison Bales To Phoenix For Second Round Pick

Atlanta, January 21, 2009-The Atlanta Dream traded 6-7 center Alison Bales to the Phoenix Mercury today in exchange for the 18th overall pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft.
Bales appeared in 17 games for the Dream last season, including nine starts. She averaged 22.9 minutes, 4.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. In her three-year WNBA career, Bales is averaging 3.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.
The former Duke University standout was originally selected by the Indiana Fever with the ninth overall pick of the 2007 WNBA Draft. She was acquired by the Dream from the Fever in exchange for forward Kristen Mann on July 4, 2008.
