Canucks Assign Sanford To Manitoba

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose announced today they have assigned goaltender Curtis Sanford to the Moose.

Sanford, 29, appeared in 19 games this season with the Canucks where he's compiled a record of 7-8-0 with a goals against average of 2.59 and a save percentage of .906. He collected a shutout Dec. 29/08 vs. Ottawa. In two seasons with Vancouver, the Owen Sound, ON native has appeared in 25 games with a record of 11-11-1 with a goals against average of 2.66 and a save percentage of .846. In 108 games in the NHL in his 10-year pro career, Sanford is 37-37-11 with a goals against average of 2.76 and a save percentage of .901 and five shutouts with St. Louis and the Canucks.

Sanford has also played in 156 career games in the American Hockey League with Worcester and Peoria. In that span, he went 70-62-14 with a goals against average of 2.45 and a save percentage of .913 with 12 shutouts. In 12 career Calder Cup games with Worcester, Sanford was 4-8-0.
