Argos And Ticats To Take Rivalry To Hardwood In Third Annual Battle For Breast Cancer

Toronto - The oldest rivalry on the gridiron hits the hardwood as the Toronto Argonauts take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the third annual Battle For Breast Cancer, presented by Sultan Prospects. Players from both teams will put away their pads and helmets and put on their basketball shoes to help find a cure for Breast Cancer. Fans of both teams are invited to attend this Saturday night at Sheridan College, Oakville Campus and show their colours.

Leading the way for the Argos squad, appropriately named the Courtside Boatmen, will be OT #59 Jerome Davis, #6 DB Jason Shivers, #17 KR Keith Stokes, #13 RB Andre Durie, #95 LB Richard Seigler and Argos alumnus Chuck Winters. Playing for the Ticats will be #44 LB Ray Mariuz, #2 WR Tony Miles, #67 OL Peter Dyakowski, #68 OL J.P. Bekasiak, #41 LB Nick Kordic and #75 DE Adam Kania.

There will be raffle prizes throughout the evening, including some special Argos prizes. 1,000 people are expected to attend and the game will include an appearance by the Argos Cheerleaders, music, food, appearances by special guests and Breast Cancer items for sale. Players and cheerleaders will also be available for autographs at the end of the game.

DATE: Saturday, January 10, 2009

TIME: 8:00 p.m.

LOCATION: Sheridan College Oakville Campus - JM Porter Athletic Centre, north entrance (1430 Trafalgar Road - Oakville, Ontario)
