Janis Sprukts Recalled from Rochester

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that the club has recalled C Janis Sprukts (YAN-ish, SPRUKTS) from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Sprukts, 26, has played in 17 games with Rochester this season scoring four goals with six assists and six PIM. He played in four games with the Panthers during the 2008 preseason scoring one goal with two assists.
The Riga, Latvia, native made his NHL debut playing with the Panthers during the 2006-07 season, appearing in 13 games and recording three points (1-2-3). Florida drafted Sprukts with their seventh choice (234th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
