
Pelicans To Hold Holiday Open House This Saturday

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are inviting fans to BB&T Coastal Field for a Holiday Open House this Saturday, December 6th, from 11 am - 2 pm. The event will benefit Fostering Hope during their exceptional time of need throughout the holiday season.
Anyone who attends the Holiday Open House and brings an unwrapped toy, new socks or underwear to donate to Fostering Hope will receive a coupon for 30% off one item in the Pelicans Pro Shop as well as a voucher for one regular season game ticket to a 2009 Pelicans home game.
All fans in attendance will receive 20% off their entire purchase in the Pelicans Pro Shop with any purchase over $50. The Pelicans Pro Shop is a one-stop holiday shopping experience for baseball fans featuring apparel, memorabilia and beach-themed baseball gifts. The Pelicans are currently offering three unique Pelicans Holiday Gift Packs, all of which will be available at the Pro Shop throughout the Holiday Open House. Additionally, fans can browse new Pelicans designs and items for the upcoming 2009 season.
Light refreshments will be available throughout the event. The Pelicans will also conduct guided tours of BB&T Coastal Field, which give fans the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes into player clubhouses, the press box, suite level and more. Younger fans can participate in inter-active Nintendo Wii gaming options on the suite level, and the Pelicans will hold a scavenger hunt featuring Pelicans prizes.
Fostering Hope is a non-profit organization that provides goods and services to children who enter the foster care system in Horry, Georgetown, Marion and Dillon counties. In the four counties alone, more than 500 children are in the care system as the result of child abuse or neglect by those caring for them. Fostering Hope provides children with new or gently used clothing, shoes, toys, hygiene items and a duffle bag upon entering foster care.
