Anthony To Replace Injured DiDomenico At '08 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge

SAINT JOHN, NB --- The 2008 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge Committee announced today that Sea Dogs forward Steven Anthony will replace injured centre Chris DiDomenico on Team QMJHL in the upcoming series pitting Canada's top major junior stars against a delegation from Russia's national program.
Game One of the series will be played on Monday night in Sydney, NS, with Game Two set to take place on Wednesday, November 19 at Saint John's Harbour Station beginning at 7:00pm. This will be only the second time that a Russian team has faced a Canadian team in the 15-year history of the arena.
Anthony, 17, has recorded 4G-7A-11P-33PIM in 24GP thus far this season for the 13-9-1-1 Sea Dogs. The 6'2", 205 lb. forward will join Saint John team mates Alex Grant, Yann Sauvé, and Simon Després on Team QMJHL next week, with Head Coach/GM Jacques Beaulieu set to serve as an assistant coach with the star-laden squad in the second match.
DiDomenico suffered a lower body injury in Wednesday night's 3-2 road win over the Gatineau Olympiques. The superstar centre will be out of action for approximately 2-3 weeks.
Wednesday's game will be preceded by the Tim Hortons/Coast Tire All-Star Fan Fest, which will take place at Harbour Station on Tuesday, November 18 from 5-9pm and feature several exciting promotions including a Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit, interactive games, an autograph session featuring members of Team QMJHL as well as the Sea Dogs, an all-star coaching demonstration, and open practices featuring both competing teams. Admission to this event is free, as is parking at the arena.
