Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Flint, MI - Good things come for those who wait and for the Kalamazoo Wings they waited for three games and over 60 minutes of their fourth contest and their patience earned them a 6-5 come-from-behind over the Flint Generals.

With a combined five goals scored, it was offense galore in the first period. Josef Fojtik (2nd) gave the Generals an early 1-0 lead with a left circle slap shot nearly five minutes in the game.

Kalamazoo made good on their lone power-play opportunity of the period, when Mark Nebus (1st) knocked in a rebound at the 7:31 mark to tie the game at 1-1.

Not to be outdone, Fotjik (3rd) capitalized on the Generals lone man-advantage chance of the period by recording his second tally of the night midway though the period.

Making the most of his K-Wings debut, rookie Jereme Tendler (1st), on his first shot on goal, sent a wrist shot five-hold on reigning Aquafina Rookie of the Week Jordan Alford to knot the contest at 2-2. Flint pulled ahead 3-2 late in the first period with a goal from Mike Alexiou (2nd).

Building off the late first period heroics from Alexiou, Flint continued the offensive assault in the second period receiving goals from Jared Dumba (1st) and Steve Rymsha (3rd) to extend their lead to 5-2. The tallies from Dumba and Rymsha occurred 43 seconds apart from each other.

Cutting the deficit to two goals, Rod Aldoff scored his first goal of the season with blast from the right point 8:31 into the second stanza.
