Florence Freedom to host 2008 German Shepherd Dog Championships

Florence, KY - The Florence Freedom are excited to announce Champion Window Field is the site of the 2008 WUSV World Championships. This is the 21st year for the German Shepherd dog event presented by the United Schutzhund Clubs of America.

The World Championships begin Thursday, October 9th and run through Sunday, October 12th. The competition is from 6:00am - 7:00pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday; 6:00am - 6:00pm on Sunday.

The event is open to the public; however only dogs registered in the competition may be inside the ballpark during the events.

Tickets are $10.00 at the gate, a 4-day pass is $25.00. Concessions will be available throughout the day.

"This is an exciting competition for us to be hosting in our backyard," mentioned Freedom General Manager Kari Rumfield, "it showcases the versatility of our ballpark."

The Florence Freedom are a member of the Frontier League, a 12-team Independent Professional Baseball League established in 1993. The Freedom play a 96 game schedule with 48 home games between late May and early September.
