Inland Empire 66ers News Release
San Bernardino, CA - On Saturday, July 19th the Inland Empire 66ers have an enormous day of events planned! It will be a 66ers t-shirt giveaway for the first 1,000 people through the gates. Also, it will also be the first ever Christmas In July Toy Drive at the park.
The 66ers have teamed up with Trinity Children's Foundation of America, which is based in Colton, to help underprivileged children in the Inland Empire.
Fans will be asked to bring an unwrapped toy to the stadium for a boy or girl to donate and in return fans will be receive a free ticket voucher that can be used for any Sunday-Thursday game for the remainder of the 2008 season. The ticket will not be valid for that day's game.
The contest between the first place 66ers and the Stockton Ports, an Oakland Athletics affiliate, is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m., however, the toy drive will run from 6-8 p.m. Santa is vacationing in southern California and will be in attendance to help load up all the toys for the girls and boys. St. Nick will be decked out in his beach gear, as he will be wearing board shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. Fans can take pictures with Santa after they donate.
Please do your part by donating a toy or money so that children in our community can have a happy holiday season.
