UNCASVILLE, Conn. (July 18, 2008) - The Connecticut Sun is encouraging all fans to "Pack The Place Pink" on Sunday, July 20th when the Sun take on the Chicago Sky at 1 p.m.

All fans in attendance at the game will receive a pink ribbon to promote breast health awareness. In addition, the Sun is partnering with Backus Hospital in Norwich as part of the Sun Community All Stars Program. As part of the program, the Sun will host a pre-game reception for Backus breast cancer survivors and supporters.

"The Connecticut Sun is proud to partner with Backus Hospital on an issue that affects our players, coaches, fans and women around the world," Connecticut Sun Community Relations Manager Dallas Pride said. "We are eager to do our part to educate the community and celebrate breast cancer survivors."

In addition to the reception, the Sun will provide an opportunity for 11 breast cancer survivors to participate in the pre-game ball exchange at center court. Information about Backus programs and other breast health awareness issues will be available through in-game features and along the Mohegan Sun Arena concourse throughout the game.

"This partnership with the Connecticut Sun is a great way to bring attention to breast health issues and to our Breast Health Initiative at Backus," said Genevieve Schies, the Backus Foundation's Director of Planned Giving. "We want the community to know that we are constantly investing in the latest technology and programs to fight breast cancer whether it's digital mammography or a new program to help patients with abnormal mammograms. It's all about improving the health of the community, and we thank the Connecticut Sun for offering us this wonderful opportunity."

The Connecticut Sun is in its sixth season of play at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tickets for all games are available by calling 1.877.WNBA.TIX or by visiting www.connecticutsun.com.
